This rug features the earmarks of a traditional design, showcasing a mesmerizing scrolling vinework that draws the eye and evokes a sense of awe. Enclosed within a contrasting border adorned with alternating palmettes, it exudes a refined elegance and sophistication. The curvilinear design, perfectly mirrored from the center, creates a sense of balance and harmony that resonates throughout the entire piece.
The Millefleurs design, originating in the seventeenth century, showcases meticulous craftsmanship with small blossoms delicately linked by fine vine work. This design beautifully blends European influences with the rich tradition of Persian-Mughal art. Large leaf and blossom figures adorn the field. The blossoms, adorned in shades of peaches, mint-green, and delicate earth tones such as brown, beige, and amber, are thoughtfully balanced. A sandstone pink border perfectly complements the delicate network of tendrils connecting the lattice pattern on the field.
The sustainable and durable mulberry silk weaves a subtle sheen into this rug. From certain angles, the rug reflects deep shades of ruby, adding a luxurious touch and ensuring it stands out as a statement piece.
